Giveaway & Review - Nibble Tray by Zak Designs

The Dr. Sears Nibble Tray by Zak Designs is one of our favorite tools to use for a super simple snacker style lunch. Wow.. say that 5 times fast! It has 6 sections in the main tray, and an upper 3 section piece that can be frozen to keep items cold. Both pieces have lids, as well. The item is really marketed to toddlers, and I only wish I knew of it when my daughter was starting finger foods, but we use it just like any other box we pack meals or snacks in. It has plenty of room for the perfect size breakfast, lunch, or snack, and everything is already divided for you and ready to go. This would be a great place to start if someone is new to packing lunches this way, and fantastic if they have a picky (although I tend to cringe at that word) eater. For us, personally, the ability to offer multiple food options and smaller portions of those things, created a better and more excited about eating kid. This box is fun.. really it is.

Another thing that I really like about this product is that each compartment has a raised design for a food group. If you have a child that likes to help select foods, cook, shop, arrange their lunch, or anything of that nature, that this gives them another tool to do so. The top and bottom larger compartments have pictures of fruits and vegetables. The other four sections are grain, dairy, meat/fish, and other. Helping kids identify food groups and sort portions into these compartments is a great way to have them get involved. As for the company that makes the Nibble Tray, Zak Designs, they have everything from dinnerware to on-the-go products and tableware to kitchen prep. But, more significantly to me, they are also 'involved'! They run a blog with recipes, fun mealtime ideas,  on-the-go snacking, and some seriously fun ideas for kids in general. While I won't make following their blog mandatory to enter our giveaway, you SHOULD definitely check it out!

  8. I may be 26 years old, but ever since I had gastric bypass surgery, I eat small portions. My favorite way to eat is to take a few bites of several different foods--but they have to separate, not touching or mixed. Something like this would be perfect for me. :)

In the green portion, I'd put peanut butter in the big middle section, then put some Count Chocula in one side and boo berry on the other for treats.

Off the top of my head, a carry-along lunch of turkey rolls, cute cheese shapes, Annie's cheddar bunnies, grapes, carrot sticks and cucumber with ranch, and fruit gummies for a dessert.
