You Want What?

My bologna has a first name. It's O.S.C.A.R. My bologna has a second name...
Oh, sorry. Every time, I think of bologna, that little ditty is the first thing that comes to mind. It dates me a bit, I guess. The second thing that I think of? Gross. Sorry, but I was never a fan. Then again, I never had it until I was a teenager, so maybe it's an acquired taste from youth. For that, and other reasons, the kiddo never had it either. Until today. Of all the things in the grocery store, that is what she pointed at and insisted she wanted to try. I'm not one to deny my kid trying new things, even if it's just the super exotic bologna, so I picked out a turkey bologna, red wax wrapper and all, and literally had the deli cut 2 slices. I think it was 1 slice too many. Turns out, while the kiddo did eat it, she shares my lack of love for it. Oh well.

Cowboy Snack Bento

  2. I loved fried baloney as a kid [my dad's favorite]. If you have never tried it, it's a special taste sensation. I can't eat it anymore, my stomach can't handle it. Great idea to buy a couple slices of something new in the deli, to try.

    1. Fried balogna, huh? Maybe kind of a like a thin Spam, which I've never had either, but interesting nonetheless. When we can try new things in small amounts or when I sale, I don't feel to bad if it's a miss. The hits are much more often, though, so trying is always worthwhile! Thanks for stopping by!
