Okay, so I slipped.. I tried one fabulous bento idea, and found out how important it is to have the right tool for the job so things go smoothly. I refuse to even post a picture of the disaster that was lunch today! Tasty, but not so pretty.
I did make some more refrigerator oatmeal, so that's good. And I chopped up zucchini and cauliflower for our next adventures this weekend. I picked up some chocolate chips at the grocery store for the dessert, too. That will have to do. And I did reorganize my pins/boards a bit, so now on my 'must try' list, there are 26. Progress! Now, if I ever get some motivation, I should tackle my mountain of torn out recipes in the cupboard... or not...
And I did at least manage to complete one thing on my list. That was the homemade yogurt drink posted on Bent on Better Lunches. I didn't have any strawberry syrup, but I am a 'bunny milk' lover, so I do have some strawberry powder, which is what I used instead. I'm not sure if the original recipe intended flavored or plain yogurt, but I made mine with plain, using the same ratio of milk and yogurt. Than, instead of the syrup, I added 1 tsp of the powder. Delish! I'm thinking this would be a great on the go snack, too, and could easily have some extra protein or fiber added with whey, wheat germ, etc.
Yogurt Drink - 1/4 c milk, 1/4 c plain Greek yogurt, 1 tsp strawberry powder
